In my opinion, public sector social and health services are more efficient than the private sector, but maybe efficiency is not the only criteria. Society sometimes needs services of less efficient private sector services to allow for (freedom) of choice. Having a choice can make the customer feel in control.

In my opinion, profit oriented social and health service provider has conflict of interest with society in principle. However, from availability of services point of view we need private sector service providers. Every service provider is important.

Health services, social services, early-childhood education, schools, and tertiary education institutes are equally important to society. All of these services share similar social outcomes. Maybe decision-makers could learn what works and what doesn’t work from different services and use the same rules for all the different services.
